Solo piano

Espen’s debut album as a solo pianist, Noctilucent (2012), was declared one of the most beautiful releases of 2012 by AllAboutJazz.com, placing it in their top-ten year’s end list. Acres of Blue was released in 2014, and in 2022 Espen released his first fully improvised and live-recorded concert, The Trondheim Concert at NXN Recordings.

Espen wrote this commissioned work for Trondheim Jazz Festival, in collaboration with Maijazz Stavanger and Oslo Jazz Festival. The sextet Water Fabric was premiered at Dokkhuset, Trondheim in May 2022, and have also performed at the festivals in Stavanger and Oslo, and at Jammin’Juan in Juan-les-Pins (FR).


Trondheim Jazz Orchestra & Espen Berg

Espen was awarded JazZtipendiatet in 2016, and put together this 14-piece orchestra to premiere his commissioned work “MAETRIX” at Molde Int’l Jazz Festival 2017:

TJO & Espen Berg has played several concerts in Scandinavia, and an album is scheduled for 2022.

Silje Nergaard & Espen Berg

The duo has released the album Japanese Blue on Sony Music Gmbh in 2020, and is touring extensively in Norway, Germany and Netherlands in 2021 and 2022.
